In a small rural village, the young boy family faced the heartbreaking loss of their elderly grandfather, As a low-income family, they struggled to make ends meet.

The nearest graveyard, or kabarastan was located over 30 kilometers away, in a neighboring town with no direct transportation available.

​Due to the unavailability of transport, family could not conduct a proper funeral for their beloved grandfather. They had to rely on makeshift arrangements, which were both physically and emotionally exhausting.

​The long, arduous journey on foot, coupled with the stress of ensuring the body was properly cared for, left the family distressed and grieving not just for their loss, but also for the inability to honor their loved one appropriately.

This tragic story is not unique to this family. Across the world, many low-income families face similar hardships when it comes to funeral transport arrangements.

In 2023, approximately 61 million people died globally, highlighting the vast need for organized and efficient funeral transport services worldwide​.

Many regions, particularly rural areas, lack accessible funeral transport services, leading to significant delays and complications in conducting proper funerals.

​The financial burden of funerals is overwhelming for many families, with the cost of a basic funeral in some regions exceeding 20,000Rs​​. This financial strain often results in improper or delayed funeral services, adding to the emotional burden on grieving families.

​we believe that just as every individual is granted the means to begin life, it is equally important to have a seamless end journey. the trust ensures that every individual can receive a dignified and respectful farewell. This service alleviates the emotional and financial burdens on families, allowing them to focus on mourning their loss without the added stress of logistical challenges.

The Trustees of The Soul Journey Antim Yatra Trust bring diverse expertise from fields such as the Indian Armed Forces, Engineering, Accounting, and Consulting. Privately held within the family, the Trust seeks support from like-minded individuals to operate without prejudice. Initially registered in Delhi, the Trust started its services in Haryana Gurgaon and aims to expand across Delhi/NCR.
